Tawnya…
Organizing and coordinating comes natural to Tawnya. The fact that she’s a people person and finds value in everyone she speaks with, makes her being a bridal and event coordinator a perfect fit. Tawnya has coordinated many different; events, weddings, fundraisers, and rallies. She has planned intimate dinners for two (clientele will remain nameless), to rallies of over 20,000 people.
Tawnya enjoyed working with the Sundowner Yacht. In planning weddings on the Sundowner yacht a coordinator must be very organized. It’s not like you can park a yacht at a store to grab anything last minute. On one occasion a brides’ father exited the yacht to retrieve an item out of his vehicle. Upon his return to the departure gate, the brides’ father discovered the yacht had raised anchor and was on its way. Tawnya had a plan for “just this” emergency! She radioed the people she had lined up for “just this” purpose. The Dad was back on board without even the bride knowing he almost missed her wedding.
Tawnya also worked as the Layout Editor for the Southern California Bridal magazine many years ago. This is where she was honored to meet so many different designers in the industry. It was this path that she was able to work with coordinating bridal fashion shows for most all the designers she met.
But what Tawnya finds most rewarding is planning that special wedding day. Making sure all things are ready and lined up. Taking care to ensure family and friends all feel welcome and cared for. The bridal party has all the tools to be the best wedding party for the bride and groom. The many different wedding suppliers such as the cake, photographer, florist, and caterer and so on, all know and have the team spirit. All this so the bride and groom are able to enjoy their day. The day remains special so the brides’ perfect day stays just as it should special…
Erick…
In the early 1920’s John E. Schultz began his journey in the floral business in Detroit, Michigan. The first Maple Lane Florist was built in the late 40’s. Maple Lane Florist began as a vegetable stand in the early 1940’s. By 1948 the first florist in Troy, Michigan was opened for business. The family built the flower shop with their own hands and lived in a home just behind the store.
The Schultz’s worked tirelessly seven days a week to begin what was to be a life long family business. In the early 1960’s they opened up a second location in Clawson, Michigan. The first store is still there today and yes, it’s still in the family too! Since that time, over 100 years have passed and now grandchildren and great grandchildren are keeping this legacy alive.
