Rancho Bernardo Inn Wedding with Valerie Vonprisk Makeup Artista

I love making my brides look like they stepped off the page of a fashion magazine. With a background in editorial and fashion makeup artistry, I use careful makeup applications on my brides to give them ultimate confidence and style on the wedding day.

My gorgeous bride, Erin, married her husband Jason at the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn. For Erin’s makeup, she wanted a flawless but natural look on her big day.

To complement the elegantly detailed bodice of Erin’s, dress and the pristine feel of the Rancho Bernardo Inn, we wanted her skin to stand out and glow. We went for a smooth rosy cheek, and let her gorgeous brown eyes pop with a shimmery brown and cream lid. To complete her look, we accentuated her lips with a natural pink and a little gloss.

Erin and Jason saw each other before the ceremony during a “first look” shoot. Jason was excited and stunned when he saw his beautiful bride to be.

Erin’s classic updo and clean makeup balanced perfectly with her eclectic bouquet, modern satin belt, and couture dress.

In addition to Erin’s makeup, I did the makeup for the seven girls in her bridal party. What a gorgeous group of brunettes!

I love this shot of Erin serving us a modern “Marilyn Monroe.”

Even towards the end of the night, Erin’s makeup held up perfectly, and she looked as beautiful as ever!

Smokey Eye Wedding Look with Keely Marie Makeup

My favorite part of working in the bridal industry is making brides feel more beautiful on their wedding day than they have ever felt before. There is nothing more amazing than to see a bride happy and joyful. That’s why I love doing what I do!

Recently, I was the makeup artist for Katie and Fred’s big day! Initially, Katie, Fred and I met for a trial, to pin down the style that we’d use for the wedding. Fred, Katie’s sweet husband, wanted Katie to spice up her makeup and go glamorous. We were determined to find the perfect bridal look, taking Fred’s input into consideration, with a style that would “pop.”

Katie and Fred liked the smokey look with a light cheek and light lip.

Katie’s smokey bridal look was a great match for her sexy and sultry persona, which you can see here!

All eyes on Katie! She had show-stopping makeup that perfectly complemented her soft hair and elegant dress.

For my typical bridal services, I offer full airbrush makeup, lash application, tattoo covering, and airbrush tanning. I travel to every bride on her wedding day, and I can accommodate large bridal parties. If the bridal party is larger than 6 people, I bring an assistant to help get everybody ready on time.

A bold lip and cheek with a bold eye can look too overdone. With a sultry and smokey eye, it is best to keep the cheeks and the lips more neutral, to keep focus on the eyes. Katie pulled off this smokey eye/natural face combo beautifully.

Katie chose airbrush foundation for her wedding day, which kept her makeup flawless the entire day. She was sweat-proof, tear-proof and photography ready! It was a great choice for any bride!

This fun couple hosted their reception at the swanky Ultimate Skybox in downtown San Diego. Katie’s look transitioned beautifully into the night!

Most often, I do trials with brides prior to their wedding day. I recommend booking a trial at least 3-4 months before your big day. For my out of town brides, I make sure to clearly understand their bridal makeup vision so I can still achieve the perfect look! One tip: book as early as you can, as certain months tend to be busier than others!

Beach Wedding Hair & Makeup by Brittany Gharring

For the past 12 years, I have been a hair stylist and makeup artist for brides and their wedding parties. It’s an honor to be the one who gets the bridal party all glammed up and beautiful.

Recently, I was hired to be on location for Sonya and Jeff’s beach wedding ceremony and reception at the Scripps Seaside Forum.

One of the most important aspects of getting the bride and her ladies ready is being efficient with time! Typically, we spend 40 minutes max on each maid’s hair and makeup, leaving as much time as we need for our bride.

I always include lashes, whether they are full, individual or just the corners. The corner lashes are key! I love when the mother of the bride gets falsies because they make a world of a difference in the photos!

Prior to the wedding day, we layered Sonya’s hair so her curls would have lift and lots of body, and would last longer. We loved how it turned out!

We chose a hairstyle that would complement Sonya’s dress, and not compete with its fullness. We decided on romantic curls and waves, which flowed with the back of her gorgeous gown.

Getting the bridesmaids ready is such a fun and exciting part of the wedding day. We start by prepping each maid with a set of hot rollers and curls, and then apply their makeup with an airbrush or by hand. Then, we add the perfect finishing touches!

We went for a fresh and romantic look for the bridesmaids, with hairstyles ranging from down and flowy to pulled back. Because it was a beach wedding, I stayed through the reception, to make sure the bride and bridesmaids stayed fresh in the warm beach weather.
