We believe that being a good emcee means knowing when to speak up, and when to let the music speak for itself. A great wedding DJ combines musical acumen with microphone presence, while understanding his role behind the scenes. Where good DJs go bad is when they think they are more important than the bride and groom, and that a big personality means better entertainment value. Club DJs speak through their music, seamlessly mixing beats, incorporating mash-ups, and reading the energy in the room and reacting accordingly. Music selection tends to be one of the more difficult challenges our clients face during the planning process. To put your finger on the music you love, and also have it be appropriate for a wedding is where the challenge presents itself. We assist our clients by reviewing sample timelines and song lists, suggesting artists and genres that may fit with their current musical tastes, and providing opportunities to listen to our most recent mixes through our website and public events. We are the original Pandora. Our job is to take what’s in our client’s heads and translate it into a four or five hour event.

For some of our clients, a combination of DJ services and live entertainment is the perfect balance. We offer everything from solo guitarists to full bands, and everything in between. When we think of live music at a wedding, our minds usually conjure up the classic image of a string quartet playing Beethoven in a private garden. But the truth is that any live element can enhance a wedding.

National research shows that brides and grooms are putting more of an importance on entertainment at their wedding. The average wedding budget devotes around 10% to entertainment, and this trend is growing. Lighting and decor has also become an integral part of the overall experience. Recognizing the demand, TAP dove in head first almost ten years ago and added a myriad of lighting and decor services to our repertoire. For this reason, TAP clients invest an average of 15% of their overall budget with us.

At Chris and Danielle’s wedding, pictured below, we provided quite a few services to create the overall look and feel of their big day. It started with the market lighting over their ceremony lawn, which later became an enchanted space for their guests to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean.

To take it up a notch, we illuminated the palm trees, all the way up their 30 foot trunks! We also wanted to bring a little romance to their reception room, so we added wall-to-wall draping using a sheer material that we illuminated to warm up the space.

The music tied everything together. From traditional Horas to your favorite sing-a-long songs, we played the full range you can expect at a well-rounded wedding reception.

We are the pioneers of DJ Live! services, which is the combination of a live musician (or musicians) with a DJ mixing recorded music. For example, DJ with sax, DJ with conga drum, or many other combinations will give your guests something they’ve probably never seen or heard before, and certainly haven’t seen at a wedding.
