La Jolla Cove Beach Engagement Shoot | Jamie and Tyson

Jamie and Tyson live in the seaside community of Playa del Rey in Los Angeles. Because the beach felt like a natural place for their engagement photo session, we headed down to the sand at La Jolla Cove. We wanted to capture the two of them walking hand in hand along the shore. It was the perfect time of day for that warm summer glow, with the sun peering up just above the horizon.

Before the sun set, we walked along the streets of downtown La Jolla. Along our walk, we discovered a pair of giant “his and hers” cutouts that made for a fun prop / backdrop. Throughout the shoot, Jamie and Tyson were playful and confident, which shined through in their photos. We look forward to photographing their August wedding at the Westgate Hotel!

Featured Engagement Shoot: Reenacting a First Date at the Birch Aquarium | Sarah Lynn & Archie

On their first date, Archie brought Sarah Lynn to the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography. They took in the aquatic displays, then enjoyed a romantic evening picnic at the Wedding Bowl at Cuvier Park, overlooking the crashing waves. It was a special and meaningful day for this beautiful pair!

When it came time to plan an engagement photo shoot, the Birch Aquarium seemed like the perfect spot. We captured this couple in front of many scenic backdrops, including the two-story, 70,000 gallon kelp tank. Then, just before sunset, we headed over to Cuiver Park. Archie and Sarah Lynn kicked back for a beach picnic, and reminisced about the day it all began. Take a look below at photos from our shoot!

Featured Engagement Shoot: Point Loma Military Inspired Engagement Photos | Alexandra and Clay

Alexandra and Clay met on the beach, so they wanted to incorporate a little of the Pacific Ocean into their engagement photos. Clay is also a Marine Corps pilot, so the military is an incredibly important part of their lives. Together, we managed to combine these two aspects, and the result was a unique and meaningful engagement shoot.

The shoot took place in Point Loma, which seemed like the perfect intersection of beach and military. To start, we captured photos at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery for a quiet moment of tribute, where Clay dressed in uniform. We were all aware and respectful of the surroundings, and it was a fitting moment of appreciation for those who have served our country.

Later, we captured Alexandra and Clay’s playful personalities at Sunset Cliffs. The natural beach environment made for a perfect backdrop! We are honored to photograph this sweet couple, and we are truly thankful for their dedication to protecting our country. We look forward to being a part of their wedding at the Prado in Balboa Park this summer.
