A Pinch of Saint Patrick’s Day Green for Good Luck

By, March 15, 2013

This Sunday is a great day for the Irish! Though many Americans often use Saint Paddy’s Day as an excuse to drink green beer, look for rainbows, and dress like a leprechaun, the holiday actually has many special meanings and customs. For instance, in Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day is considered the luckiest day of the year to get married!

If you decide to tie the knot on (or around) March 17th, you may want to incorporate a few Irish good luck charms, and bring in the good fortune. You can set up horseshoes to play during the cocktail hour, incorporate Irish lace into your veil, dress the tables with accents of gold, or hire a bagpiper to play the processional music. We’ll call it “Shamrock Chic”.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve gathered photos from recent weddings that incorporate the color green in a major way! We hope you have a wonderful holiday, complete with good luck and a drop of green food coloring.
