For all the locals out there, it’s time to gear up for the annual San Diego County Fair! This Saturday, June 8th, kicks off the fair’s 77th year at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. To pay homage, we designed a fair-themed inspiration board full of summer fun!

For your own fair-inspired wedding, we suggest starting with spring pastels, and pairing them with bright pops of red and teal. You can also add details such as striped paper straws, buckets of Gerbera Daisies, and ribbon curtains draped over archways. These small touches help to accentuate the theme, and to create a whimsical atmosphere.

As an alternative to the ever-popular photo booth, you can mix it up with a kissing booth, which makes a great backdrop for social-media-worthy photo ops. If you’re looking to pull out all the stops, a petting zoo will surely keep guests entertained during the cocktail hour! And, if you can swing it, an old-fashioned carnival Ferris Wheel is a nice touch :)

Whether the wedding is fancy, or down-to-earth, there is always room for deliciously naughty late night treats. Desserts like chewy caramel apples, specialty popcorn and hand-dipped ice cream bars help to bring out that authentic fair flair. We’ll see you at the midway!
