A Gorgeous Wedding at Rancho Valencia with Details Defined

At Details Defined, every client is our most important client. To prepare for each event, we create customized timelines that are painstakingly detailed around the needs of our client. Our clients are discriminating and selective, and so are we!

AnnaRose and Arturo were referred to Details Defined by a friend of the Bride. Since AnnaRose is busy running her family’s business, she wanted someone she could trust with major and minor details. We consulted with them from step one, starting with the selection of the date and location. We also guided them throughout the vendor selection process.

Our clients say our sense of calm is soothing during the planning, and especially on the wedding day. AnnaRose was relaxed on her wedding day, and was absolutely gorgeous.

AnnaRose’s family are flower growers, and the bride’s father named the rose well known throughout the floral industry as AnnaRose, after his beautiful daughter.

For over a year, we worked with AnnaRose, Arturo and The Father of the Bride Kenny Baca, who were instrumental in all the plans. They respected and trusted me and my team to do our jobs, and the end result was exactly what they wished for.

The elegant programs were designed by Carol Smith of Invitation Factory, and helped to keep the guests cool on a warm day. The escort cards and table names were also created to complement the gold tones throughout the wedding.

These themed “Lopez Libation” lavender whiskey sour signature drinks added a fun detail to the cocktail hour.

A canopy of lights over the croquet lawn at Rancho Valencia Resort was beautiful, from day to night, and the gorgeous desserts from VG Donut and Bakery coordinated nicely with the vibrant colors of the evening.

This couple and their families have left a lasting impression in my life. The sincere love between them, the friends and family who surround them, and the love and respect they all give to one another made this wedding beautiful from the inside out. AnnaRose said she enjoyed the process, and appreciated that she was able to relax and thoroughly enjoy the wedding!

A La Valencia Wedding Coordinated by Cynthia Zatkin Events

As a La Jolla native, I adore the La Valencia Hotel, or “La V,” as we call it here. It is such a wonderful location with a historic 1920’s feel to it. With its landmark pink color and Spanish elements, the La V feels very old California. And since it also boasts an updated interior, and amazing food and service, it feels very modern at the same time.

When it came time to decide on a destination wedding venue, Debi and Scott decided on the La Valencia, and they couldn’t have picked a better location. The couple decided to do the majority of the planning themselves, and brought my company in for day-of coordination. Whether we are hired for day-of or full service, we always put the same energy and dedication into planning the wedding day, and we produce the best results possible within the time given.

I met with Debi and Scott about eight weeks prior to their big day to do a walkthrough at the venue. After going through questions regarding the set-up and timeline for their event, I created a detailed timeline, to serve as the master document for all the vendors.

Since the La V is so close to the ocean, the pair were able to jet down to the waterfront with their wedding party for a few photos. The green huts shown here line the walkway along La Jolla Cove park, and make for an adorable backdrop.

Debi and Scott both come from Jewish families, and it was very important for them to have Jewish traditions incorporated into their wedding. For example, The chuppah (wedding canopy), was crafted from the prayer shawls of the couple’s respective bar and bat mitzvahs. The prayer shawls were sewn together to represent the union of families. Very creative and so personal! The day’s events included a formal Ketubah signing prior to the ceremony, as well as traditional Jewish customs interwoven into the ceremony itself.

The reception took place in the Veranda room, where Debi and Scott chose to begin the evening with the Hora! The idea was to have the guests up and dancing before dinner even began. I love these photos of Debi and Scott surrounded by family and friends – and their expressions are priceless!

Rather than a traditional wedding cake, this couple opted for a small cutting cake, and a table of fantastic finger desserts from the amazing Michele Coulon. Lately, I have had a lot of couples opting for dessert displays, and a small ceremonial cake to cut. I love the idea and the look!

Debi and Scott made use of the La Valencia’s white linens, brought in gold Chivari chairs with matching chargers, and had very minimalist white flower centerpieces. It was classy but simple – and purposely so. I love planning according to the tastes and personalities of my individual clients.

I really enjoyed working with Debi and Scott! They were great decision makers and really enjoyable people, and I love that they just wanted a super fun party. Since my dad and his family are all Jewish, I appreciated the traditions, and really enjoyed the energy of this Jewish wedding. Mazel Tov!

Estancia La Jolla Wedding with EverAfter Events

I recently had the opportunity to work with Anita and Michael, who were married at the Estancia Hotel and Spa. I love the Rancho style of the The Estancia Hotel in La Jolla, as well as the green gardens and overall elegance. This couple was one of the sweetest I’ve had the pleasure of working with. It was apparent to everyone that they enjoyed every moment of their day!

Anita and Michael’s pale pink and white color palette blended beautifully with the rustic brick and natural elements of the venue, as you can see in these gorgeous photos by True Photography. Take a look!

The ceremony took place in the Garden Courtyard, which was adorned with soft and feminine shades of pink by Organic Elements.

Just before Anita and her Dad walked down the grand staircase, all eyes were on this cute little ring bearer. It was so much fun to see him getting pulled down the aisle in this adorably decorated wagon!

The Estancia has a beautifully tiled staircase that leads down from the adobe buildings to the ceremony site. This allowed for the bride to make a dramatic grand entrance!

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed spectacular drinks and appetizers just outside of the La Jolla Ballroom.

The name card table was decorated with photos of the bridal couple’s parents at their own weddings. It was also topped off by this amazing floral structure!

The room was gold toned with pale pink and white accents, which created a beautiful ambiance and a relaxed atmosphere. Each table top was set with high centerpieces and with hanging candles to set the mood.

Watching Anita dance with her dad was so special and touching. Mr. Vishwanath had the largest smile on his face and was beaming the entire dance. So precious!
