Beachy Maternity Shoot | Sonia and Cameron

It’s always a treat to hear from our wedding clients, especially when they have a baby on the way. Recently, we were delighted to hear back from Sonia and Cameron, who had a beautiful wedding in Newport Beach not too long ago. For the maternity shoot, they decided to go with a beach vibe, so we headed to La Jolla Shores. Between the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and the golden coast of La Jolla, we were able to capture many beautiful photo locales in one shoot :) Have a look at some of the highlights!

Bun in the Oven | Maternity Session Inspiration

We love maintaining a personal connection with our wedding couples, and seeing where life takes them. When a baby is on the way, we really enjoy going back and photographing the onetime newlyweds as parents-to-be. It is so much fun to get creative together, and the joy and excitement shows in the resulting photos :) As inspiration, we’ve collected a few of our favorite recent maternity photos, showing soon-to-be moms rockin’ the baby bump. During her maternity session, Callie (above) looked stunning in her flowy white gown. With relaxing waves in the distance, it was a beautiful and tranquil moment.

Scripps Seaside Forum | Venue Spotlight

Scripps Seaside Forum is a gorgeous property overlooking La Jolla Shores and Scripps Pier. This venue boasts award-winning architecture, stunning modern backdrops, and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. In fact, the adjacent La Jolla Shores is frequently lauded as one of the best beaches in America.

The exterior buildings at Scripps Seaside Forum offer a wide variety of sleek and dramatic surfaces, and are all conveniently located within close proximity. This makes for a nice variety of photo backdrops within a very short distance.

The Scripps Pier is a quick walk from the venue, and is a great environmental background for stunning portraits!

Scripps Seaside Forum is the winner of numerous architecture and design awards. We like to take full advantage of the venue’s unique look to create distinctive images.

From the venue, you can step out onto La Jolla Shores, for a completely immersive natural beach environment.

When photographing at Scripps Seaside Forum, we love taking advantage of the venue’s pristine ocean views. We’re also huge fans of the gigantic colorful sunsets.

The auditorium is elegantly draped, with tall ceilings, and is fully equipped with audio and video equipment for slideshows, video compilations, and music.
