Desert Rose Inspiration Board

By, October 23, 2013

Although the desert may be a non-traditional location for a wedding, it actually works very well. Because it is such a blank canvas, the desert landscape enables you to pursue your own vision, and create a completely unique outdoor wedding venue. A desert background also looks amazing in photographs!

This week’s “desert rose” inspiration board is for the edgy and artistic bride that is full of spice, not sugar. So long to pink, frills and pearls – this bride is motivated by textures, patterns, asymmetry, and elements found in nature. We envision this bride in a sleek, fitted gown that stands out against the golden sand. She is wearing unique copper-and-gold jewelry, which is adorned with semi-precious stones and iridescent opals. For a touch of glam, and to offset her fierce look, she’s rocking metallic snakeskin-print shoes!

Our desert bride’s bouquet consists of assorted flowers with spiky textures, as well as succulents, and a few roses in a coral tone. Because succulents can withstand the heat and last the entire event, they’ll also be used heavily in centerpieces and decor. We envision guests dining on grilled steak and vegetables, fresh fruit, and signature prickly pear margaritas in an open outdoor setting. And after the desert sun has set, and our bride and groom begin their life together, they will have timeless images that tell the story of the day.
