We love a Southern California engagement shoot at the beach, and Scripps La Jolla is on the top of our list.  Just north of La Jolla Shores,  Scripps offers gorgeous photo opportunities with less of a crowd than other beaches in the county. An extension of the UC San Diego campus, the picturesque Scripps Institute of Oceanography Pier is an iconic local landmark. Whether we stop underneath the pier to catch the sunset through the pillars, or we head up to the bluffs for a scenic shot, the pier lends itself to stunning photos. In addition to the sandy beaches, some of our favorite venues such as the Scripps Seaside Forum and the Birch Aquarium are located within walking distance of the pier.
