About Quartet Nouveau

Quartet Nouveau was formed in September of 2011 and performs in venues throughout San Diego. Our mission is to provide high-quality chamber music performances that are inventive and artistic. We seek to enrich our community by keeping the masterworks of classical music alive, and presenting unified concert events to reach out and move our audience. We are not simple entertainment, but we use the beauty of music to move, inspire, and challenge our audience. Our concert series entitled "The Human Emotion" is a 4-concert series with themes of Love, Loss, Heroicism, and Conflict, and Includes such pieces as the Barber String Quartet, Schumann String Quartet No. 3, Shostakovich 8th String Quartet, and Philip Glass String Quartet. Quartet Nouveau was recently named quartet-in-residence for the Greater San Diego Chamber Music Festival held on the campus of USD.

In addition to high-quality chamber music, Quartet Nouveau seeks to educate young string players in the art of string quartet performance. Our program Quartet Lab is a series of chamber music workshops open to intermediate and advanced string students.
