Hi, I'm Avalon :) I've been interested in photography ever since my mom gifted me a polaroid camera as a child. Then I fell in love with film photography; developing photos in the dark room of my high school. I became captivated with measuring light. That passion lead to my graduation from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Film and Digital Media degree. By being raised in a family of creative individuals, I've come to love how to think outside of the box. Also having a mother who has been a wedding planner since I was born has allowed me to fall in love with love, and how people express their unique love on their wedding day. I know every client's style is unique and I'm are here to capture original and authentic imagery. Photography and/or cinematography, to me, is the measurement of light and happiness in every environment and my goal is capturing that moment; allowing it to last on forever more through image and video. Let me help you create the imagery that leaves you and I smiling, and all others speechless.

Kim is the glue of True Photography, serving as both our President and Finance Director. With over 15 years of dedication to True, she has played an instrumental role in shaping the company’s success. A San Diego native, Kim has a deep passion for weddings and is committed to ensuring every client feels valued and taken care of. Her expertise in both finance and client relations allows her to seamlessly balance the business side of True while keeping the focus on what matters most—creating an incredible experience for couples on their big day. Kim’s warm and detail-oriented approach makes her an essential part of the True team, and her dedication to both the company and its clients is unmatched.

I’m Aaron Feldman, the Chief Visionary Officer and founder of True Photography. My journey in photography began after graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography, when I launched True Photography in 2000. In the early days, I wore many hats—photographing weddings, handling marketing, retouching images, managing accounting, and designing albums. While my clients were happy, I quickly realized that in order to provide the highest level of service and creativity, I couldn’t do it all alone. Fast-forward to today, after years of refining and evolving, True Photography is now a small, hand-picked team of highly talented individuals. We are not a photo factory—we are passionate artists dedicated to capturing incredible, timeless imagery. We share a unified vision of what exceptional wedding photography should be, a philosophy that has taken years to perfect. As we continue to grow together as creative professionals, our technical expertise and innovative mindset allow us to push boundaries and create truly stunning imagery for every couple we work with.

As a friendly face behind the scenes, Kristen is one of our go-to for all things client care! She’s been part of the True Photography family long before she officially joined the team—starting as a bride herself over 20 years ago. In fact, her own wedding was photographed by True, and she’s been singing our praises ever since! Kristen and Aaron the founder have been friends since high school, so when the opportunity came up to bring her warmth and attention to detail into the studio, it was a perfect fit. Now, she’s a total wizard when it comes to the ins and outs of our process and packages, and she loves helping couples feel confident, informed, and excited every step of the way.

Hi I’m Anthony! I fell in love with video during college after taking an intro to editing class, which led to my first role in the industry as an assistant editor at a documentary studio. That experience really shaped how I approach storytelling and the importance of crafting something meaningful in post production. What started as an interest quickly turned into something much deeper, and this has truly been an obsession of mine for close to 10 years now. Since then, I’ve worked across a wide range of projects, from marketing and commercial content to short films, and of course weddings. Over time, I found that weddings are some of the most meaningful stories to tell. There’s nothing quite like being part of someone’s day and turning those moments into something lasting. Within our team, I oversee our videographers and post production process, helping guide each project from capture through final delivery. My role is to ensure consistency in quality, refine the style we produce, and make sure every film reflects both our brand and the couple’s unique story. I’m passionate about making sure every client’s vision comes to life, from the first moments of production all the way through the final edit :)

Courtney Buffett, a San Diego native, first became drawn to photography on a family vacation to Europe at age 14. She went on to study photography in college, and began shooting in-house for a well-known portrait studio for several years. Eventually, she tried her hand at wedding photography, and was hooked. Courtney is a talented and charismatic photographer, and she creates indelible images that capture the spirit and emotion of the day. Courtney says: “I enjoy thinking on my feet and being able to handle whatever situation may arise. The wedding day is so full of love, activity, and pure emotion, and I’m delighted that my job is to capture it all.” Courtney’s other interests include spending time with her family, hiking, swimming, and relaxing at the beach.

Megan grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, where her love and passion for photography began at a young age. Her mother introduced her to her first camera through capturing the sweet candid moments and family portraits at every event. She studied photography at Louisiana State University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2012. Since then, she has enjoyed landscape photography, animal portraits, and travel photography; however, she found her true passion when she was introduced to wedding photography in 2014. Megan has won numerous regional photo contests, as well as acclaim for her coverage of the US Tennis Association in 2015. Megan has a naturally nurturing spirit which can help the clients feel calm and comfortable during big moments. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and technical knowledge makes her a great photographer, with the expertise to handle both large and intimate events. Her vibrant and fun-loving personality makes you feel at ease when you're in front of the camera. She loves being silly and playful. When not photographing, she enjoys swimming and skating, traveling the world, and dancing to live music.

I have always loved taking photos. Landscapes and cityscapes, but most especially portraits in all forms. I love the individuality that comes out in an image; an expression will flash across a face and often the lens is the only way to grab it. To be able to capture the true personality of my subject, to meet new people, travel to far off places and have fun? This is why I do what I do! Weddings have been part of my life since 2002 when I signed on as an assistant for a well known photographer in South Florida. Over the years I've had the pleasure of working with talented photographers and have amazing clients in Florida, Georgia, Colorado, and New England and now San Diego... A few other things about me: - My first camera was a blue plastic Fisher Price when I was seven. - If I wasn't a photographer I'd be a marine biologist. You know, so I could ride around in a boat all day playing with whales and dolphins. - Molly's my 12-year-old puppy. She goes everywhere with me and has traveled to 38 states. (That's her kissing me below.) - Sometimes I add things that I've already completed to my "to do" list just so I can cross them off. - I've been all over the continental US, so if I could go anywhere I'd travel to Nepal, Australia, New Zealand (again), Africa (everywhere), Russia, Hawaii, Spain, and Ireland. (This is not an all-inclusive list.) - A major goal: to learn more than 10 words of Spanish. - And another one: learn to play piano.
