Jeremy Weinglass is an award-winning, classically trained pianist who connects deeply with his audience inspiring emotion and creative energy with soul-piercing intensity. Jeremy has been performing professionally since the age of 12 and evokes a melodic modern classical style that makes him instantly recognizable. With a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from UC Santa Barbara, Jeremy possesses a true talent and passion for music composition for piano as well as a range of orchestral instruments. Jeremy maintains a wide-ranging repertoire of original music, classical, jazz, standards, musicals, pop and rock while keeping current with the latest hits. While he most often performs as a solo artist, his expertise and grasp of diverse musical styles have also led him to be a highly sought after pianist to accompany other musicians, singers and performers.
Jeremy’s musical talents and dedication were identified early on as a young child. At the age of six, he received a Yehudi Menuhin Scholarship for piano to formally begin his musical studies at The Nueva School, a small private school tiered for gifted children. The son of a single mom without a father in the picture, Jeremy would not have been able to attend the prestigious school without a scholarship. Jeremy was also fortunate to receive further guidance and mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Jeremy’s musical studies continued as he became an original member of the San Francisco Bay Area's Ragazzi Boys' Chorus and attended advanced piano and theory classes at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. During his middle school and high school years, Jeremy played piano with jazz bands, accompanied choirs, and performed in school musical productions. It was during this time Jeremy studied with Thomas La Ratta, former Music Director at Notre Dame de Namur University, who he considers his most influential teacher. Jeremy attended Notre Dame for a year after high school to study Piano Performance before attending UC Santa Barbara where he gained experience, both on and off campus, in vocal and music direction of musical productions as well as creating a course to teach students his original compositions for performance by the UCSB orchestra for his senior recital.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2001, Jeremy has made a name for himself, as the premier pianist for weddings and events as well as restaurants, hotels, and shopping malls throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. His talents have garnered attention from entertainment industry and have earned him awards in 2005 as Instrumentalist of the Year by LA Music Awards and in 2009 by pianist/composer David Lanz. He has performed with international singer and entertainer Cindy Ashton, Funkadelic rockstar Kim Manning, Bulgarian singer Krassimir, accomplished songwriter Dan Rockett, folk-hop duo I,Star (including playing piano on three of the tracks and co-writing "Song of Freedom" on their debut album Music and the Mood). From 2002-2008, Jeremy toured the world as the keyboardist with Ballentine including 8 USO tours and numerous large music festivals as well as performing in virtually every night club in Los Angeles! In 2007, Jeremy toured the US and Canada playing keyboards with Englebert Humperdinck. Jeremy helped start The Paula Franceschi Band serving as band leader and keyboardist from 2009-2010. Jeremy made his debut playing his original music on TV as the featured pianist for a wedding ceremony on David Tutera's My Fair Wedding on the WE Network during the 2011 season. Jeremy is currently ranked the #1 classical artist in Los Angeles and #2 Nationally on ReverbNation.
His solo piano album, Dreams, was released in 2005 featuring the best of his original music spanning a ten year period.
In 2008, he ambitiously recorded eight solo piano albums in only three days, which feature some of the best of his repertoire across different genres of music: Classical Masterpieces, Christmas, Love Ballads, Jazz Hits, Rock Classics, Musical Show-Stoppers, Pop Favorites and Timeless Inspirations.
Jeremy composed “The Divine Within” for his dear friend and fan, Mason, for his 15th birthday in 2010 and released it as a single in 2011. In honor of the inspiration that Mason provided for the song, Jeremy donates 50% of the proceeds from "The Divine Within" to Mason's charity of choice: Wheels for Humanity, a wonderful organization that provides wheelchairs to people in need all over the world.
Jeremy released ODYSSEY A Twelve-Month Revolution in 2010 featuring violinist Chris Woods (American Idol, The Voice), who he met while performing at Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City. ODYSSEY ties together the natural moods of the year through a 12 part musical journey in all 12 keys.
Striving to expand ways of sharing his music with the world while making a positive impact, Jeremy was inspired to create an original music and dance production that brought the story of ODYSSEY to life. Jeremy assembled an accomplished team to realize this vision including choreographer and modern dancer Michelle “Star” LaVon and director Stephen Hues. Performed in 2011 to a sold out 360 person audience at the El Portal Theatre, with 100% of net ticket sales donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, the production has proven Jeremy to be an artist of many talents with a broad vision.
Recognizing the positive foundation that was built through his experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters and grateful for what has become a lifetime relationship with his "Big Brother" Jeremy has begun to pay it forward by mentoring another young boy in need. Jeremy also serves on the Alumni Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles.
Complementing his zest for life and involvement in his community, Jeremy enjoys a rewarding life with his wife and manager, Kim. The dynamic force behind Jeremy and Weinglass Music, Kim fuels Jeremy’s passion and inspires his creativity. The pair fills their life with music, contribution, adventurous travel and pursuits in personal growth, while maintaining a spiritual outlook of love and oneness.
Jeremy can be found playing piano on the weekends in the Luxury Court at Westfield Topanga Mall and frequently enjoys playing at Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City for the services led by Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith. Jeremy has been a member of International Special Events Society (ISES) since 2009.
