About
Hi, I'm Avalon :) I've been interested in photography ever since my mom gifted me a polaroid camera as a child. Then I fell in love with film photography; developing photos in the dark room of my high school. I became captivated with measuring light. That passion lead to my graduation from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Film and Digital Media degree. By being raised in a family of creative individuals, I've come to love how to think outside of the box. Also having a mother who has been a wedding planner since I was born has allowed me to fall in love with love, and how people express their unique love on their wedding day. I know every client's style is unique and I'm are here to capture original and authentic imagery. Photography and/or cinematography, to me, is the measurement of light and happiness in every environment and my goal is capturing that moment; allowing it to last on forever more through image and video. Let me help you create the imagery that leaves you and I smiling, and all others speechless.

About
Ciara hails from Northern California, and was born with a curious mind and a mischievous spirit. She was a strong student, and had aspirations of modeling, until her attentions turned to the other side of the camera. While in high school, she saved up wages from her restaurant job to buy her first real camera, a Nikon F100. Later, after assisting friends at a wedding, she knew that she had found her true calling.

For years, Ciara has drawn inspiration from legendary photographers, including her favorite, Herb Ritts. Drawing from her influences, she developed her own artistry, combining emotion and glamour to create sophisticated images. In addition to the must-have photos, she loves photographing the quiet, unguarded moments between family members and newly married couples.

Along with wedding photography, Ciara is often sought out for her specialty in birth photography, maternity, and boudoir. She enjoys supporting conservationist causes, and has two beautiful sons.

Amber F

Amber F

  • Lead Photographer
About
Amber was born in Nuremberg, Germany, to a military household. The family eventually settled in Las Vegas, where Amber attended a performing arts high school. The curriculum encouraged students to explore different artistic pursuits, and Amber found herself drawn to photography and the darkroom. One day, she claimed her dad’s old Canon AE1 as her own, and she never looked back.

Although she had creative eye, Amber knew that in order be at the top of the industry, she needed to strengthen her technical knowledge. So after high school, she made the decision to move to New York, where she attended the School of Visual Arts. Because she was a quick study, she was able to learn digital photography just as the technology was emerging, and became a pioneer in the field.

Amber excels at wedding photography because of her natural positive energy, which keeps her moving throughout the day. She has an easygoing personality, and is a calm and reassuring presence behind the camera. Her recent work has been featured throughout WeddingWire, and she enjoys writing and film in addition to photography.

About
I am the link that captures moments in time that will last forever in the mind's eye. I am the link between you and the camera that I hold in my hand. Knowing that I create lasting memories for happy brides, close families, loving couples, and playful children keeps my passion in what I do constant, free flowing, and creative in the moment. It truly feels good to love what I do. I won't stop. After spending years in the corporate world and never truely feeling content I found my passion and talent in photography. My first wedding came by chance in the summer of 2005 and it was then that I decided to put all my energy and time into learning the art and the craft of photography. It was an excellent decision. It feels good to wake up every morning and love what I do! I wish that everyone could find his or her passion and follow it with as much reward as I have. I continue to learn, I continue to grow, I continue to fuel my passion and I continue to capture real people, real emotions, and essential events.

About
Whether shooting a happy couple on their wedding day, professional head shot, photo booth, under water portrait, or a professional model, I approach every job the same way. I like shooting beautiful pictures, working with fun people, and creatively telling a story with my cameras. I think photos of loved ones are priceless… I consider myself an artist, but what makes my work special is the people in it. I’m just there to bring it out and capture it with my camera…. Photographing the most important days + most important people in my clients lives is something I consider super important, and a true honor… My approach combines the style of fashion photography, with the storytelling aspects of photojournalism. Along with the standard I have two main goals at every shoot: I want to create beautiful portraits that showcase your style and personality, and I want to capture candid pictures that tell the story of the event. My experience has taught me to make all photo shoots run quickly and smoothly, and that they should be fun for all involved! I want to you remember how much fun the photo shoot was, and it should never feel like a chore. Do you bring a backup camera? Of course! Every important piece of gear has a backup–and the backups have backups. I bring gear that will allow me to shoot in any weather or lighting environment! We even shoot our main camera with 2 cards so nothing will ever be lost or go missing. What Camera’s do you use? Right now, I’m shooting with Canon 5d III’ 6d, and top of the line L series prime lenses (good glass = great photos). I also love the 70-200 2.8 L, and that occasionally makes an appearance when I need the extra reach.

About
Experience: I have been photographing professionally for fourteen years and capture mainly weddings (with family shoots and fun events sprinkled in here and there)! I was also the Global Peace Foundation's main photographer at hundreds of national and international events at venues including the United Nations Headquarters, The World Bank and Capitol Hill. I have shot at over 45 wedding venues (with some favorite repeats) in the past two years since moving to San Diego! I am grateful for all of the amazing clients that have allowed this transition to the west coast to be so seamless. I work with each couple to create a wedding day schedule that is unique to their wants and how they want to enjoy their day. On the big day, I always suggest that couples put away their phones and let them know I got it. I want them to be in the moment and just enjoy, letting me make sure everything runs smoothly and gets captured. Style: My style is modern artistic and documentary, capturing weddings with a natural look that portrays the romance, excitement and joy of the big day. My favorite photos to take are fun and dreamy. For couple photos, I do a mix of formal and semi-candids, with a lot of guided action shots (walking, lifting, hugging, and more) so it’s really creating authentic experiences with genuine expressions that you can look back on and remember how amazing it was in that moment (not how microposed it was). My Life: Every chance I get, I go outdoor rock climbing, hiking and traveling. I love everything adventurous and fun, always trying to live life to the fullest. I bring that to my photography, striving to take photos full of life and showing the natural raw beauty in new and creative ways. I have an amazing life partner and best friend for 12 years, Ryman, and we take our tiny house truck all over the States exploring.

About
My biggest wish during my work is for the client to have a great experience. I strive to deliver an unforgettable moment that can be kept forever—both in pictures and in memory. I work closely with each client to ensure their experience is fantastic, and exceeds their expectations. Originally from Brazil, I come from a family of creative minds and beautiful souls. My father and grandfather are renowned photographers and architects; and my mother an avid art collector. As a child I would spend hours looking at their work, dreaming of being a photographer. When I was 15 years old my mother handed down my father’s cameras to me. With his Polaroid and 35mm Leicas, I was able to learn the fundamentals of photography and focus on acquiring technical knowledge before I took on the digital world. Even though most of my equipment today is digital, I still like to shoot 35mm and develop my own film. In 2002, I moved to San Diego to pursue my dream of being a professional photographer. Along with my vintage cameras, I brought a deep desire to create something different. After I started college, I developed a passion for sports and water photography. From spending hours practicing in the water to attending countless workshops at the renowned Brooks Institute, I worked diligently to gain knowledge and experience. Cultivating my own unique approach to surf photography, I found success in my passion; seeing my work published in some of the most iconic surf magazines in the world. While working in the photo department at a surf magazine, I stumbled into an opportunity to shoot wedding photography in San Diego. One of the people I worked with at the magazine was a wedding photographer, and he needed an assistant. I wanted to learn something new so I gave it a shot, and it was amazing! Photographing weddings felt so fluid and natural, and I enjoyed it so immensely, that I quickly started shooting them more and more. Working with seasoned industry professionals, I eagerly absorbed everything I could about becoming a Wedding photographer. I have been mastering the fundamentals, experimenting with techniques and refining my style since 2006

I bought my first DSLR the day before I earned my Bachelor’s degree in 2014, and I simply could not get over how much clicking was going on when I would take pictures: from the shutter and it feeling perfectly aligned with who I am and what I was made for. I decided to forgo pursuing a job in my field to learn anything and everything I could about photography, and two years later, I started shooting full-time. Choosing that career path has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I truly come alive when I get to make pictures. My ultimate goal with wedding and lifestyle photography is to make you feel incredibly at ease and excited in order to produce images that capture and reveal your genuine essence and emotion. I want the natural, real, authentic you to radiate through each and every collection of pixels, and I will go to great lengths to make sure you have an enjoyable time while doing so. When I’m not taking pictures of people, you can find me over at I’m the Blue Dot, a travel blog I started in 2017.

About
My story is a little different than those who grew up taking photos. I didn't have an interest in photography until I had kids. It's because of them that I felt inspired to pick up a camera. I wanted to document their daily lives in the form of pictures. Once I did, it opened up a whole new world for me. I joined photography clubs where I practiced shooting many genres such as landscape, portrait, street, and architectural photography. But it wasn't until a friend asked me to assist her that I fell in love with wedding photography. Here I am, 5 years later doing the best job in the world! If you had asked me years ago, I would've never believed that what started out as a hobby (or if I'm being perfectly honest an obsession), would soon grow into a passion and career and I have my kids to thank for it.

I'm Erin. I'm a photographer, traveler, and wide-eyed wonderer. I live in a 1976 Airstream travel trailer that my husband and I restored from the ground up. It's named the Bicentennial Falcon. My favorite pastimes include exploring Disneyland, so much Netflix, and hanging out with people on the best day of their lives. I have a loud laugh. I love a good cabernet franc. I can't get enough of my cute husband, and I'm on a constant search for the best tacos in the world. After all of our travels, my husband Phil and I have landed in San Diego and we LOVE IT. I want to get you in front of my lens and share a few moments with the real you. The you that snuggles with the people you love, or the you that laughs whenever your dad says something embarrassing, or the you that can't wipe that goofy grin off your face at the first peek of your bride or groom. I'm disarming and silly, kind and empathetic, and I want to know you and catch something amazing about you in one of my photographs. About
My name is Aaron Feldman and I am the CEO / Founder of True Photography Weddings. I started True Photography 18 years ago, after graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography. At first, I began photographing alone. I would shoot weddings, do the marketing to bring in more business, retouch the images, process the accounting, and build albums. Although my clients were happy, I found that I was spread too thin to accomplish everything effectively. I would start a retouch project and then leave immediately to photograph a wedding... Then I would come home and have an album to complete. I wanted to produce the highest level of happy for my clients as well as myself, and I realized that big changes needed to be made. Fast-forward 18 years, and many refinements, today, True Photography is made up of a very small, hand-picked team of talented individuals. Not a photo factory. We are people who love to photograph and are dedicated to creating amazing images for your wedding day. We share a common vision of what we feel good wedding photography should be. This has taken years to refine, and we continue to grow together as creative artists. With the technical expertise, and innovative mindset of our team, there are no limits to what we can produce.

About
I have always loved taking photos. Landscapes and cityscapes, but most especially portraits in all forms. I love the individuality that comes out in an image; an expression will flash across a face and often the lens is the only way to grab it. To be able to capture the true personality of my subject, to meet new people, travel to far off places and have fun? This is why I do what I do! Weddings have been part of my life since 2002 when I signed on as an assistant for a well known photographer in South Florida. Over the years I've had the pleasure of working with talented photographers and have amazing clients in Florida, Georgia, Colorado, and New England and now San Diego... A few other things about me: - My first camera was a blue plastic Fisher Price when I was seven. - If I wasn't a photographer I'd be a marine biologist. You know, so I could ride around in a boat all day playing with whales and dolphins. - Molly's my 12-year-old puppy. She goes everywhere with me and has traveled to 38 states. (That's her kissing me below.) - Sometimes I add things that I've already completed to my "to do" list just so I can cross them off. - I've been all over the continental US, so if I could go anywhere I'd travel to Nepal, Australia, New Zealand (again), Africa (everywhere), Russia, Hawaii, Spain, and Ireland. (This is not an all-inclusive list.) - A major goal: to learn more than 10 words of Spanish. - And another one: learn to play piano.
