Once upon a time, on a Hawaiian island very far away, a little barefoot girl loved to play in the sand along the shoreline in front of her grandfather’s house. Each time she went to the shore, her grandfather would come out and greet her with a big hug and hand her a little white Pikake flower from his garden. Although small, this little flower had the most beautiful jasmine fragrance of all the flowers on the island. She would smile and put it behind her right ear, a gesture that symbolized she was still looking for Love.
Years later, after her grandfather passed away, the girl’s own father began to pick the white Pikake flower and give it to her on special occasions as a symbol of strength, luck and success. Again, she would place it behind her right ear, symbolizing that she was still looking for Love.
One day, she met a young man who was kind, honest and passionate about life. She knew in her heart that this was the man for her and she fell in Love. Every time they would meet she would wear the white flower, now behind her left ear to show that she had found Love. She would then give the flower to this special man.
In the end, it was true Love and a little help from the white flower that made my happily ever after come true.
