Love and Marriage Go Together Like a Horse and Carriage | Inspiration Board of Horses at Weddings

By, July 23, 2013

It’s thoroughbred season again at the Del Mar Race track! So, in celebration of the 74th horse-racing season at Del Mar, we’ve created an inspiration board of recent wedding photos featuring horses. Though horses may not be on every couple’s guest list, we’ve seen these beautiful animals involved in a variety of weddings —  from romantic storybook nuptials, to cultural celebrations, to rustic barnyard receptions.

For a majestic vision of a groom riding in on a white horse, take a look at some of the photos from Deepika and Jesse’s Indian wedding at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. This Indian tradition, called the Baraat, involves the groom riding in on a lavishly decorated horse, celebrating the merging of two families. For a storybook happy ending, check out Lena and Wade’s”fairytale” wedding at The Grand Tradition, where the newlyweds were whisked away in a horse drawn carriage. And, for a more rustic feel, we’ve included photos of horses at ranch style weddings, at venues like the The Ranch at Bandy Canyon and a private equestrian estate in Pinyon Pines.

In all cases, horses represent beauty and grace, often signifying romance or festivity. Not to mention, they look pretty cool in photographs! We hope you enjoy this week’s inspiration, and perhaps it will prompt you and yours to make a galloping grand entrance :)

Wedding Day Clutches and Purses for the Stylish Bride | A Wedding Inspiration Board

By, July 16, 2013

A clutch is a functional bridal accessory, and keeps all of your wedding day necessities in one handy place. In addition, a stylish clutch can also complete the wedding day ensemble. It’s probably the most sophisticated way to tote around essentials such as bright red lipstick, a pack of tissues, roll-on perfume and a tin of Altoids!

For this week’s inspiration board, we’ve chosen some of our favorite recent clutch photos. These bags were carried by our recent brides to stash their wedding day basics. You’ll see a punk-rock diamond and skull knuckle ring clutch, an edgy golden snake purse, and a vintage pearl encrusted hand bag, among others. No matter which clutch intrigues you, we hope you can find some inspiration to use when your big day arrives.

Beautiful Botanical Bouquets | A Labeled Inspiration Board of Unique Wedding Flowers

By, July 09, 2013

Flowers have been used in weddings for centuries, likely since the earliest days of civilization. For example, the ancient Greeks wore garland wreaths during marriages and festive occasions.  Even to this day, flowers are a quintessential wedding accessory.  In addition to symbolizing growth and rebirth, wedding flowers can help create the atmosphere that guests remember, whether it’s lavish, simple, mod or traditional.  In fact, every wedding we’ve ever photographed has incorporated florals in some way, including bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, aisle accents and elaborate table centerpieces.

Although flowers are a ubiquitous element of wedding decor, they are used in many different styles. Depending on the overall look of the wedding, the florals can be simple and understated, or exquisitely enhanced.  Some of the most common bouquet blooms we’ve seen at weddings are fresh Roses, Lilies, Orchids and Hydrangeas.  We’ve also noticed a recent trend of incorporating unique and distinctive flowers, such as drooping Amaranthus, Pincushion Sunburst Protea and seasonal Blue Mascari.

To inspire a fresh take on wedding flowers, we’ve created this collage of unique floral photos we’ve gathered from recent weddings. We made sure to label some of these blooms for your convenience!  Take a look below, and feel free to share your favorites.
