This week, we pulled our inspiration from a song that we just can’t get out of our heads — Justin Timberlake’s swanky single “Suit and Tie”. This song has a modern-meets-Old Hollywood vibe, and alludes to looking good while dressed to the nines in black and white.
As a wedding color scheme, black and white conveys eternal beauty, as well as bold sophistication. So for our board, we chose a timeless white bouquet of roses and ranunculus, an elegant letterpress invitation, a pillow-folded napkin with a dainty white garden rose, and a pair of white pearl gloves for a classic feel. To add a punch, we paired these objects with black and white Chanel pumps, crystal chandeliers, an embellished black belted gown, and gem-studded black cocktail tables.
When using a black and white palette, the complementary colors are endless! For example, we accented our board with a pale mauve for a soft look. It’s all about striking a balance between the yin and yang, or in this case, the beauty and the bold.
At a perfect black-and-white themed wedding, we’d love to see the groom dance a choreographed routine, vintage microphone in hand, singing “Suit and Tie”. If you haven’t seen the music video featuring JT and Jay-Z, we’ve got you covered. Check it out below our inspiration board, and allow them to “show you a few things.”
