We are often asked about the benefits of an engagement shoot, and its importance in the wedding process. We feel that an engagement shoot is the best and most powerful way to get to know your photographer. We learn a lot about you as a couple while shooting, like how the two of you interact, and the types of images that you are drawn to. Throughout your session, you’ll also see how we work, experience our creative approach, and have fun being photographed together :)
When choosing a shoot location, it is best to select a site that has a variety of nice backgrounds within walking distance. That way, you have a lot of different environments and poses to choose from, while being most efficient within the shoot time. We also recommend selecting a spot that is personally meaningful to you both. It could be the setting of your first date, or a favorite part of town where you love to hang out together. If there isn’t a specific area in mind, that’s ok :) We are happy to provide our best recommendations.
In addition to being a record of your pre-married life, your finished engagement photos can be used in a variety of ways. We’ve seen engagement photos featured in Save the Date cards, guest signing books, enlargements, personalized wedding websites, favors, and much more. If you have specific questions regarding your own engagement shoot, please feel free to contact our studio.
