At True Photography, we are all animal lovers, and think dogs make everything better (I mean, have you seen True?!)! So naturally, we feel that an exceptionally loyal pet has earned a place of honor at the wedding festivities. After all, a wedding day is a time to be surrounded by best buddies, family, and those closest to us. So why not extend the invite to our four-legged friends?
There are lots of different ways to incorporate Fido into your big day. Many people find that their pups love to be center stage and take on a central role, like as a ring bearer or dog of honor. Others keep their pup around to chill, provide moral support, and entertain the guests. For your inspiration, we’ve put together a few of our favorite recent doggie wedding photos. If you do plan to include your party animal in your big day, definitely make sure to mention it to us ahead of time. That way, we can plan for some “pawsitively” adorable photos!
Before carving out a role for your dog, you will want to check with your venue, and make sure they allow animals on the premises. Even if your venue has a restriction, there may still be a way to incorporate your dog into portraits during the day. We are always more than happy to include them!
During the wedding, we highly recommend appointing someone your dog knows, and letting them take over. That way, you can relax and enjoy your day. It’s also incredibly helpful to give your pup plenty of exercise beforehand, and to supply the handler with lots of prized treats and extra clean up bags.
