Smokey Eye Wedding Look with Keely Marie Makeup

My favorite part of working in the bridal industry is making brides feel more beautiful on their wedding day than they have ever felt before. There is nothing more amazing than to see a bride happy and joyful. That’s why I love doing what I do!

Recently, I was the makeup artist for Katie and Fred’s big day! Initially, Katie, Fred and I met for a trial, to pin down the style that we’d use for the wedding. Fred, Katie’s sweet husband, wanted Katie to spice up her makeup and go glamorous. We were determined to find the perfect bridal look, taking Fred’s input into consideration, with a style that would “pop.”

Katie and Fred liked the smokey look with a light cheek and light lip.

Katie’s smokey bridal look was a great match for her sexy and sultry persona, which you can see here!

All eyes on Katie! She had show-stopping makeup that perfectly complemented her soft hair and elegant dress.

For my typical bridal services, I offer full airbrush makeup, lash application, tattoo covering, and airbrush tanning. I travel to every bride on her wedding day, and I can accommodate large bridal parties. If the bridal party is larger than 6 people, I bring an assistant to help get everybody ready on time.

A bold lip and cheek with a bold eye can look too overdone. With a sultry and smokey eye, it is best to keep the cheeks and the lips more neutral, to keep focus on the eyes. Katie pulled off this smokey eye/natural face combo beautifully.

Katie chose airbrush foundation for her wedding day, which kept her makeup flawless the entire day. She was sweat-proof, tear-proof and photography ready! It was a great choice for any bride!

This fun couple hosted their reception at the swanky Ultimate Skybox in downtown San Diego. Katie’s look transitioned beautifully into the night!

Most often, I do trials with brides prior to their wedding day. I recommend booking a trial at least 3-4 months before your big day. For my out of town brides, I make sure to clearly understand their bridal makeup vision so I can still achieve the perfect look! One tip: book as early as you can, as certain months tend to be busier than others!

A Wedding at a Private Residence in Point Loma with EverAfter Events

It can be a wonderful experience creating your own wedding – and an even better experience when you have help! At EverAfter Events, we work together with our brides and grooms to coordinate all the details, and celebrate the unique personalities of each couple.

Recently, we had the opportunity to work with Patrick and Sherry. They are an amazingly sweet couple who both just started their residencies here in town! Together with the couple, we planned the perfect wedding at Patrick’s parent’s home in Point Loma. The gorgeous antique-style decor was a perfect complement to the refined couple, and the elegant atmosphere of the day.

The ceremony space was set up in the backyard of the home, overlooking all of downtown San Diego. It was a breathtaking landscape for an intimate ceremony.

Sherry’s bridesmaids wore purple dresses that fell just below the knee, which were beautifully accented by purple and pink florals.

To change up the scenery, the couple chose to go to Balboa Park for some more bridal party and personal photos.

Dinner was held in the quaint roundabout in the front courtyard, which was surrounded by lovely florals and lush greens.

Gold tones were carried throughout the wedding. Gold chargers accented each place setting, as well as and personal menu cards that featured the couple’s elegant monogram. Each table was named after one of Sherry and Patrick’s favorite restaurants. What a fabulous event it was!

Wedding Celebration at the University Club Atop Symphony Towers

The University Club is the ideal venue for brides and grooms looking for a luxurious wedding venue in downtown San Diego. Our venue sits on the 34th floor of one of San Diego’s tallest buildings, Symphony Towers. We offer incredible packages, special services, the finest catering, and the most picturesque view you could ask for. It truly is the perfect spot for your perfect wedding ceremony and reception.

This past May, we were honored to host Elyse and Christopher’s beautiful wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the University Club, featuring stunning views of the downtown skyline.

The ceremony was held in the Laureate ballroom, which is one of the crown jewels of the clubhouse. The room is highlighted by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking downtown San Diego. To add intimacy to the ceremony, White Wedding Day Events draped the ballroom with light lilac fabric. Below are images of the Laureate ballroom before and during the ceremony!

Following the ceremony, the bride and groom walked the streets of the Gaslamp for photos, while guests enjoyed the cocktail hour in the swanky Apollo Lounge. Just before the reception, the couple made a fun entrance into the Lounge, and joined their guests for a drink!

Later, the guests returned to the Laureate ballroom, which was transformed into a gorgeous reception space, with seating for up to 300 guests. While switching the room over from the ceremony, we pulled back the custom draping to change the vibe for the reception. Guests could now enjoy the amazing 360-degree views of San Diego, which includes Balboa Park, the Pacific Ocean, and the Coronado Bridge!

The tables were were beautifully set with specialty linens from White Wedding Day Events.

Elyse and Christopher’s wedding cake was embellished with fresh white peonies and sat in front of a candle backdrop.

Guests dined on entrees such as Stuffed Chicken Breast with Wild Mushrooms and Cedar Plank Salmon with Maple Glaze and Apple Chutney, made by our talented University Club chefs.
