Wedding Photography Tips (Video) | Our Wedding Week Appearance on the CW

By, September 16, 2014

True Photography is the featured photographer for the CW’s Wedding Week, and our photos will be showcased throughout the week’s broadcasts. In fact, our very own Meghan was on The CW’s morning show yesterday! She talked about tips for preparing for your wedding day photography, in order to get the best results.

Meghan also shared a few examples of our favorite recent images, and had a nice chat with the host on live air :) Here are the tips she shared (and the video is below):

TIP #1: When looking for a photographer, we feel that the most important thing is to connect with the company’s work

  • First and foremost, choose a photographer’s work that INSPIRES you.
  • Put pricing aside at first so you can make the best decision.
  • If you initially love the style and quality of photography you see, chances are you are going to be super happy with your own photos.

TIP #2: Let your photographer know what is most important to you

  • As photographers, we’re an open book – we want to hear your thoughts! If you have initial ideas (likes, must-have photos etc) we’d love to hear them.
  • Tell us what you’re like as a couple (traditional, fun, a mix of both), and what your event will be like. This will give us inspiration.
  • We learn a lot by getting to know you. A great photographer will produce images that reflect you without you having to dictate every picture :)

TIP #3: Take time to enjoy the day. Don’t be afraid to have fun.

  • The key is to prepare up until the wedding day, and then enjoy the ride.
  • If you’re having fun and celebrating, this will show in your images.
  • There will be surprises. Just know that. Things happen, so just expect the unexpected!

Photographer’s Wedding | Hilton Bayfront / Ultimate Skybox | Billy & Adriana

By, August 28, 2014

This past weekend, we were delighted to celebrate the marriage of one of our own – our talented shooter Billy and his lovely wife Adriana. The ceremony took place downtown at the Hilton Bayfront, and our True team was well represented. Because Billy came to San Diego via Winnipeg, there were plenty of festive Canadians in attendance too. Adriana stunned onlookers in her mermaid-style gown, and Billy was no slouch in his dapper blue suit and bow tie.

Following the ceremony, guests walked across a footbridge near Petco Park to the evening’s final destination, The Ultimate Skybox. This swanky downtown venue was perfect for the occasion, with lounge areas, a sweeping city view, and delicious food stations. There was also a lively dance floor, where Billy and Adriana impressed us with their tango skills, and guests attempted traditional Greek dancing. There may have been Ouzo involved :)

Because Billy was too busy to photograph the day himself (we have no idea why), our True Team stepped in and took turns behind the camera. We hope you enjoy a selection of our favorite images below. It was a wonderful wedding and quite a party, and we wish Billy and Adriana a lifetime of happiness. Opa!

We Need Your Help Now, or the Beard Comes Off – Stakes are Raised!

By, November 29, 2012

Aaron Feldman grows beard for charity - small versionThanks to your generous donations, my beard is starting to be gloriously full, as you can see. I sincerely thank those of you who have given already – your generosity has helped medical students in desperate need of financial assistance. But as of right now, only two remaining days are covered, otherwise this beard goes down the drain!

It’s time to step it up! I’m about to raise the stakes so you’ll give again. And for those who have not yet participated, you’ll want to jump in now.

Here’s why – for the next week, for each $25 donated, you’ll receive one entry into our drawing. If your name is chosen, then when I finally shave this beard off, I’ll shave it all off except for your initials! That’s right – I’ll wear your initials with pride on my face for at least 24 hours, and we’ll post the proof on our blog! It’s just another reason to do something amazing – please click here for the full story.

So, who’s ready to give $25, $100, $250… Let’s keep this beard going all winter long!

Update: The beard has been shaved! Close to $1,500 was raised, which will to go towards need-based medical scholarships. We sincerely appreciate all your help and support throughout this campaign!
