Whether it’s a modern, rustic, or grand aesthetic, The Crimson Cake takes pride in creating desserts that are beautiful and delicious too. We make cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cake pops and mini pastries, and customize the style to match the look and feel of each wedding.
Recently, we were commissioned to create a cake for Carrie and Charlie’s wedding at Leo Carrillo Ranch. The couple was going for an understated look to match their awesome venue, which has a shabby chic, cottage appeal. The “look” included a variety of simple wild roses in colored vases, handmade details, and cracked white paint on antique furnishings. As cake designers, we thought the cake should have a similar feel, to pair well with the surroundings.

The cake was created with a delicious buttercream frosting, and given an organic textured exterior. As a final touch, the cake was topped with vintage love birds carved out of wood. For presentation, the delicate two-tiered cake sat among a delicious variety of sweets on the dessert table.

In the photo below, you’ll see Carrie and Charlie take the traditional first first bite, following the cake cutting ceremony. The cake pictured is our “Crimson Cake,” which is moist layers of red velvet sponge cake filled with sweetened vanilla bean, and cream cheese frosting. The couple also chose our “Berries and Cream” cake, which is buttermilk cake soaked with vanilla bean syrup, and filled with sweet cream and assorted fresh berries. Both cake flavors were made 100% gluten free. We wish this loving couple a sweet life together!
