For engaged couples looking for a beach side wedding venue, the Scripps Seaside Forum has proven itself again as an incredible spot to tie the knot. To Danielle and Chris, it was important to create a day that was meaningful and romantic. After listening to their personalized vows, watching the ocean wind blow the sheer draping on the Chuppah, and observing their love for each other on the dance floor, it was clear that romance was achieved!
We spoke with Danielle after their amazing celebration, and she filled us in on all the details. Take a look at what the beautiful bride had to say about her wedding, and feel free to let us know what you think!
From an aesthetic perspective, we wanted a style that was chic, clean and modern, but embraced the organic surroundings of the Scripps Seaside Forum. We wanted our design elements to complement the setting without distracting from it, and to be a bold reflection of our personal styles. Our colors ended up being ivory and grey with highlights of tangerine.
Our flowers were all ivory with the exception of my bouquet and the flowers carried by the flower girls. We kept the flowers clean and bold by using groupings of single flower types rather than mixed bouquets. The bridesmaids and groomsmen dressed in chic grey, and we introduced pops of tangerine in the paper products and my bouquet.
Ahhh, the dress. I adore that dress and wish I could wear it all the time! I’m not a princessy type but it’s hard to not feel glamorous in a dress like that. The dress was Vera Wang, and the style is called Diana. I love the simplicity of the fabric coupled with the architectural complexity of the dress’s construction. It’s fairly fashion-forward and edgy (tons of asymmetry and rough edges) without losing the classic bridal elements (shape, color, material). It really fit my style to a T.
Without question, my most memorable moment of the wedding day was exchanging vows with Chris. We wrote our own vows, and hearing Chris express his love to me in front of our loved ones was the most moving moment of my life. It was hard for either one of us to hold back tears, and to be honest I don’t really care that I was a sniffling mess.
It’s really tough to pick a favorite photo, but mine is possibly this one. I love our giddily spontaneous post-ceremony kiss with the backdrop of our friends and family. Fantastic moment captured!
Working with True Photography was a delightful experience, from the engagement photo shoot all the way through the wedding. Michael put us completely at ease and captured all the action without feeling remotely obtrusive. The photo shoot portion of the day was really fun – our wedding party loved every minute of it! Everyone at True is so sweet and professional – great at their jobs and wonderful to interact with. I love looking through all our photos and seeing how many of our friends and family were truly enjoying themselves at our wedding. We can’t thank the entire team enough for providing us with a priceless set of memories of the most special day of our lives.
