Bahia Hotel Wedding | Alaina and Stephen

By, January 24, 2017

Alaina and Stephen recently held their wedding at the Bahia Hotel in Mission Bay. We loved Alaina and Stephen’s fun personalities, and had a blast scouting locations that complemented their playful spirits. We hope you enjoy our selection of images from their special day!

Alaina was stylish in her stunning two-piece dress from Here Comes the Bride, while Stephen sported a classic Navy suit.

The couple opted for an “unplugged” ceremony, requesting that guests put away phones and cameras. That way, everyone was able relax and enjoy the occasion :)

Swanky 1920’s-Inspired Wedding at The Prado

By, January 29, 2015

The Roaring Twenties was an era bursting with Art Deco style, extravagant couture, and lush ornamentation. Rosalyn and Adam felt like these characteristics would be just perfect for their wedding – and they were so right!  Who wouldn’t want to attend a special celebration full of 1920s glitz and glamour?  To make their vision a reality, they called on the help of Francine Ribeau Events and Isari Flower Studio. Throughout the wedding, guests were transported back to this magical era, like a page out of The Great Gatsby. Check out the photos we captured below, and witness the transformation :)

The Grand Reveal

Rosalyn and Adam chose to do their first look prior to the ceremony.  Doesn’t she look stunning with her 1920’s finger wave hairstyle and intricate, beaded gown? He thought so too! ;) We loved photographing this moment!

The Ceremony

The young and adoring couple exchanged their vows at The Immaculata, an ornate church situated on the USD Campus.

The Party

The reception took place at The Prado, which boasts high ceilings, ornate lighting fixtures, and a grandiose stage. As soon as guests stepped foot in the ballroom, they were greeted by the sights and sounds of the 1920’s. The chairs and chargers were ornamented with gold, as was the art-deco cake. Fresh blooms were in abundance, in classical arrangements. There was even a soundtrack to match, because Rosalyn and Adam had hired The Heroes to entertain in big-band style.

Guests from young to old had a blast, and even jumped on stage to sing and dance the night away!

Beautiful Botanical Bouquets | A Labeled Inspiration Board of Unique Wedding Flowers

By, July 09, 2013

Flowers have been used in weddings for centuries, likely since the earliest days of civilization. For example, the ancient Greeks wore garland wreaths during marriages and festive occasions.  Even to this day, flowers are a quintessential wedding accessory.  In addition to symbolizing growth and rebirth, wedding flowers can help create the atmosphere that guests remember, whether it’s lavish, simple, mod or traditional.  In fact, every wedding we’ve ever photographed has incorporated florals in some way, including bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, aisle accents and elaborate table centerpieces.

Although flowers are a ubiquitous element of wedding decor, they are used in many different styles. Depending on the overall look of the wedding, the florals can be simple and understated, or exquisitely enhanced.  Some of the most common bouquet blooms we’ve seen at weddings are fresh Roses, Lilies, Orchids and Hydrangeas.  We’ve also noticed a recent trend of incorporating unique and distinctive flowers, such as drooping Amaranthus, Pincushion Sunburst Protea and seasonal Blue Mascari.

To inspire a fresh take on wedding flowers, we’ve created this collage of unique floral photos we’ve gathered from recent weddings. We made sure to label some of these blooms for your convenience!  Take a look below, and feel free to share your favorites.
