Wedding planning isn’t just a job for Sara Bauleke. It’s her professional calling – and she started early. As a minister’s daughter, Sara’s training for her position began more than 20 years ago. She regularly witnessed the finer points of wedding organization and planning as she watched her mother prepare for wedding ceremonies.
Sara coordinated her first wedding in 2002, and two years later founded Bella Notte, her wedding planning company that specializes in sophisticated urban weddings. Her work has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, and Washingtonian magazine named her as one of Washington’s Best Wedding Planners.
A full-time wedding planner, Sara focuses on getting to know her clients so she can create sophisticated wedding celebrations that are filled with personal meaning. Sara especially enjoys making her clients’ weddings distinct reflections of their personalities, and she has the experience and the skills to accomplish that goal.
Clients and vendors alike praise Sara for her ability to keep wedding days running smoothly, with her meticulous planning laying the groundwork for an exquisite event. She keeps wedding celebrations on schedule while maintaining an approachable professional manner. Clients note that Sara provides a calming influence on their wedding day, allowing them to truly relax and fully appreciate the experience. In Washington, DC, VIP experience is critical; Sara has planned weddings attended by high-profile guests including then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and General David Petraeus.
Sara’s educational background prepared her well to serve clients in the highly-educated Washington, DC, area. She has a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College in Los Angeles and a Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University. Sara has also been a guest lecturer at George Mason University’s “Wedding Planning and Management” class.
