I am an independent wedding gown designer based in San Diego, CA. I draw my inspiration from fine art, unusual fabrics, vintage styles, and the diverse cultures of the world. I was born in Long Beach, but grew up in West Africa, and have had the priviledge of living in many different countries around the world. I have always had a passion for art, and my studies in printmaking and figure drawing eventually lead me to dressmaking, the ultimate celebration of the human form.
The first wedding gown I ever made was my own, and I had so much fun making it that soon I began making gowns for friends, and eventually for clients. What began as a creative outlet has now grown into a small business, which has been established in San Diego since 2009. I currently have several collections of my original designs, which can be viewed on this website. Samples of most are available to be tried on at my studio. I also work extensively with local brides to design custom, one of a kind gowns.
I love designing wedding gowns because each gown is so unique and is a reflection of the bride. What higher purpose could a garment have that to clothe a woman on one of the most special days of her life? I view each wedding gown I make as a work of art, handmade with love.
