Matthew Orozco was born in Elgin, IL. in 1975. He began playing the drums and acting at age 5. By age 15, Matthew formed a band called "High Risk" which had received much recognition among the city locals and the Chicago suburbs. Following High School, the band went their separate ways, and by 21, Matthew had become a professional rock drummer. He played the Chicago circuit and also recorded drum tracks for other artists. Looking to focus more on his writing, guitar playing and vocal ability, Matthew studied vocal performance & music theory at McHenry County College. During that time, he also attended and graduated from the world famous Sketch Comedy & Improvisation school "Second City" Chicago. Around the same time (on a fluke, with no aspirations at all to become a DJ) he was offered a DJ position and became instantly intrigued. Matthew approaches his craft differently than any other DJ/MC/PRODUCER before him. He DJs the way a rockstar plays an instrument. While performing, he aims to please his crowd by determining what needs to be played in order to optimize the energy in the room. Matthew uses his powerful voice & comedic timing to work the crowd into a fun-filled frenzy. Since 1998 he has accomplished more than he ever thought possible. Matthew toured the country with the "COORS LIGHT MAXIM SEARCH PARTY" for two years in a row and headlined many major events with major bands and DJ's. These include Coors Light, Maxim, Hard Rock Cafe, Rockstar Energy Drink, Red Bull, Jim Beam, Draft FCB, Chicago Theater, Euro Chicago and many more. DJs/Bands: Sister Hazel, Gin Blossoms, Dot Dot Dot, Hat Guys, Posin, Local H, DJ AM, Mix Master Mike, DJ Cosomo, JJ Flores, Mixin Marc, Bobby D, Too Kool Chris, White Night, Ricky Sinz and Frankie Knuckles.
