Ryan was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, in a suburban neighborhood 20 minutes from New York City. As a kid, he was silly and talkative, with an active imagination. His early artistic pursuits included music, writing, and photography. Because his grandfather owned a photography company, and equipment and training was readily accessible, he began photographing on a constant basis.
After high school, Ryan moved to Manhattan, and embraced city life. Whenever he attended live music shows, he would bring along his camera, and soon became known for his coverage of national and regional bands. Making his way to California, he discovered his love of wedding photography, and the joy of photographing “amazing couples who are meant to be together.” An admittedly sentimental guy, his favorite moments to capture include the father-daughter and mother-son dances, as well as the first look.
Along with his primary focus as a wedding photographer, Ryan has stayed connected to the music scene, and photographs events for bands, labels, and social media. He also enjoys surfing, and can be seen in venues around town playing his own style of original folk/blues.
